Eleven members of the Onarga Music Club and four guests met Tuesday, May 4 at the Onarga United Methodist Church. President Willene Zachgo opened the meeting, and Secretary-Treasurer Kaitlin Fink read the roll call, the minutes of the previous meeting, and the treasurers report.
All reports were approved as read. In old business, members reflected on the club’s year, which included adapting their performances and meetings to fit with social distancing and group meeting guidelines.
Members enjoyed participating in Marilyn Wilken’s piano recital, which was recorded and sent to the local nursing homes in lieu of the club’s traditional spring performances at Prairieview and the Gilman Nursing Home.
It was decided to bring the club’s old music and some memorabilia to the October meeting in the fall and determine what to do with the objects. Club members were encouraged to think of new people to invite to music club.
It was decided not to perform for the kindergarteners at DES this spring due to COVID restrictions.
