Local youngsters will have to find another “watering hole” for the summer following a decision by the Onarga village board to keep the fa-cility closed because COVID 19 re-strictions would not allow the pool to run in a fashion that would be cost effective.

Pool manager Becky Morgan cited the following points at the vil-lage board meeting in recommend-ing the pool not be opened:

•The village’s insurance would not cover any adverse experiences attributable to COVID 19.

•Only 10 people, including the lifeguard and other staff would be allowed in the pool at any time fol-lowing social distancing.
