Ashton Miller To Attend Virtual Session Of The American Legion Auxiliary Illini Girls State 2021

The Gilman American Legion Auxiliary sponsored Ashton Miller of Gilman to attend the 80th Session of the American Legion Auxiliary Illini Girls State that will be held virtually June 21-25, 2021. Ashton will be among hundreds of attendees from all over the state of Illinois to participate in the virtual simulation of the Illinois governmental procedure by actively participating in a two-party governmental system including elections, legislating bills, and governmental regulations in all levels from city, to county, to state levels. Each participant learns the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities as a citizen of ALAIGS that will help her fully participate as an American citizen. Ashton is a graduated senior of the Iroquois West High School Class of 2021 and the daughter of Anthony and Amy Miller of Gilman. She will be moving to North Carolina at the end of June to attend college. The American Legion and Auxiliary look forward to hearing about her experience attending the virtual session of Illini Girls State.
